Channels Launch to Black Screen

Jun 16, 2009 at 2:57 PM

I can create and install channels without a problem but when I try to launch, all I get is black screen/unresponsive wii.  The channels look fine on the home screen, but won't launch the game.

I have tried both of the built-in .dol's with the same result.

Any ideas?  Am I supposed to put loader files on the SD, or should the channel contain everything it needs to launch the game?

I ran into this problem at first too.  Make sure that you coppied the right boot.dol files to your SD card.

ie:  I installed the USB loader GX channel, but forgot to copy the boot.dol to "SD:\apps\usbloader_gx"

This will just display a black screen then return you to the Wii menu.

i am getting the same black screen/unresponsive wii. the channel icon and the banner both look good and the sound is good

ive created the channel using

  • USB Loader GX-ULNR-r516.wad
  • common-key.bin created with wiiscrubber
  • WiiCrazy15\USBL15USB.dol

my Wii is setup

  • USB Loader GX Channel Forwarder
  • USB Loader GX DOL sd:\apps\usbloader_gx/boot.dol
  • the game plays from USB Loader GX

im lost as to what i should do from here.

thank you in advance for your reply.

I've put the WiiCrazy15 folder inside apps, still doesn't work :-(

The channels look fantastic though!

since my last posting ive made several channels using the same files.

most channels have worked using cIOS38 rev12

rev 13a or b will not load the game for me.

indiana jones and the staff of kings would not work with any cIOS rev i tried.

I think we are all stuck at this point.

Is there any fix for rev13/14?

I managed to create few working channels with this base WAD

and WBFS. Many others don't work though...
